Nepalese Silk Cushions for Salle School aims to raise £1000 for teachers’ salaries and additional equipment.

The project is being led by Michelle Goodacre and Jane Whitaker who have close links to Salle Village.

Our cushions are made from 100% raw silk, decorated with a contrasting decorative band. They measure 41 cm by 41 cm, have a concealed zip and come complete with a cushion pad.

The villagers scrape together the wages for 3 of the teachers at the village school - the government pays for the other three. The Headmaster, Shyam, wants to provide some secondary education to the children of the village who are growing up. A few children get to go to private secondary schools courtesy of funding from people in the UK, but for the majority, there is nothing.

The children at Salle Village School will benefit from every penny received for our cushions - we are paying for the materials ourselves.

Please help us to help them.

All proceeds from this venture will go to Salle Village School, Jiri, Nepal. home | about us | cushions | school projectcontact / order
