About Us

The project to sell silk cushions and raise funds for the school is being led by Michelle Goodacre and Jane Whitaker.

Both Michelle and Jane have close links to Salle Village. Jane has visited Nepal five times and trekked with villagers on four occasions. She has visited Salle twice, most recently in June 2004, and will be returning in 2006. Michelle helped host one of the villagers, Dan Tamang, on his first visit to the UK in 2004. Michelle is a great seamstress and has made all the cushions so far!

We couldn’t have got so far without support of our friends and particularly:

  • Dawn and Dave Edmonds, who produce a Salle newsletter for interested people in the UK;

  • John Gregory, who bought the first batch of silk for us;

  • Matthew Priestley, who photographed the cushions for us: www.mattpriestley.co.uk;

  • Gerard Tubb, who designed and built our web site www.easingwold.org

All proceeds from this venture will go to Salle Village School, Jiri, Nepal. home | about us | cushions | school projectcontact / order
