From Ann McIntosh MP, Shadow Transport Minister:

17 June 2004

Dear Mr Tubb,

Thank you very much indeed for your email of 16 June. I was most interested to read of the Easingwold 20 Zone campaign, and am delighted to lend my support. You will be pleased to know that Conservative policy is to introduce a 20 mile per/hour zone outside all schools in the country.

I have written to Jeremy Walker, Chief Executive of North Yorkshire Country Council, and Alistair Darling, the Secretary of State for Transport, to ask for their comments on your campaign and for their advice on how a 20 mile per/hour zone can be introduced as soon as possible.

I hope that this is helpful, and will, of course, contact you again as soon as I have received their replies.

In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me about this or any other matter.

Yours sincerely

Miss Anne McIntosh LLB MP

Member of Parliament for the Vale of York

Shadow Minister for Transport and the Environment
