Success! Thanks to everyone who signed up to this campaign we have official confirmation that the scheme will be in place after the October '05 half term holiday!
On 02 September 2005 we received a letter from Brian Watson at the Fulford office of the county highways department telling us that two sets of speed tables and two sets of full-width speed tables will be built during the half term holiday.
It goes to show that people power can work! Thank you to eveyone who supported our campaign |

As good as his word, Graham Cressey has got things moving again. We now have two schemes that have been sent out for consultation. Option 1 has four full width speed tables, Option 2 has two speed tables and two sets of cushions.
Option 1 will be better at slowing down the traffic, so we have written to County Hall supporting Option 1 and asking that they get on with building it! |

We now have the support of our County Councillor, Peter Sowray. He attended our meeting on June 11th and promised to support our campaign aims when councillors discuss Easingwold's 20mph Zone. He also pledged that work can begin on the scheme at the beginning of the 2005 financial year.
We need as many names on our petition as possible. You can sign our petition at the School Summer Fair on Saturday 19th June or the Easingwold Summer Fair on Saturday June 26th.
Even better, why not download a petition form and get people in your area to sign it? We want to send off our petition in the week beginning 28th June.
